11:00 AM - 12:25 PM
The Brown Room
This is a class that studies what it is to be a Christian. We have used a variety of books and authors to explore the topic. The authors include Adam Hamilton, Philip Yancy, John MacArthur, Max Lucado, Amy Jill Levine, and others that we find. Amy Jill Levine, former Professor of New and Old Testament studies at Vanderbilt University is Jewish, but her knowledge of the times and traditions of Jesus' time have added background to our studies. Adam Hamilton is the pastor of one of the largest Methodist churches in the country. Max Lucado has provided insights into many issues related to being a Christian. Our class sessions are discussion oriented, where we attempt to see how authors' ideas apply to us. It is not a "lecture" class. We meet Thursday mornings at 11:00AM, except the summer, because 8:30 in the morning is a bit early for us. Anyone is welcome to join us! Your bring your own set of experience to the class, and that can only enhance our discussions. Please join us!
